Tucked away in a shop in rural Rio Rancho, NM, Otto Guitars builds bespoke, hand crafted electric guitars, basses and pickups. While guitar building may be relatively new to me I've been working in technology for over 35 years and have been a maker longer than that.

Guitar making, for me, is a way to express my engineering side while embracing the instrument as art. I have my own style that is still evolving but I gravitate toward lovely woods and Italian Acetates. It might be binding, a pickguard, headplace, or something new, but often a cool piece of acetate inspires the artistic direction of the guitar.

I approach pickup building always focused on great sound but with an extra eye toward the aesthetic. I make all of my own pickup flatwork and bobbins to make sure they fit my specs as well and my style.
